Unexplained road hazard

In the early hours of 16th August a motorist travelling to East Midlands airport was startled to notice a cable stretched or dangling across the road between Buckminster and the Sproxton junction. It was reported to the police who asked Highways to investigate. So far the PC has not received a report from Highways but we investigated the area in question and could find no evidence. The only telegraph poles are near the junction which look secure. A lorry for example could have snagged such a cable. If anyone notices similar incidences please report immediately as this is a serious road hazard and needs urgent attention.
